Component
EQUIPMENT:ACCESSORY:FLOOR MAT
Manufacturer
Chrysler (FCA US LLC)
What Happened
The floor mat in your Jeep Grand Cherokee is designed to protect the pedals from dust and water. In some 2018 SRT and Trackhawk models, the mat might not leave enough space for the accelerator pedal to go back to the idle position, causing a problem.
Risk if Unfixed
If the floor mat gets in the way, you could press the accelerator all the way down without intending to, which increases the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Jeep dealer will swap out the floor mat for a new one that gives the accelerator pedal enough room to move freely. This repair is completely free, and you should schedule it as soon as possible.
