What Happened
The tow hook bracket in your Jeep Grand Cherokee is a metal piece that helps secure a tow rope or strap. In some 2017 models made between August 8 and August 16, 2016, this bracket might not be securely attached.
Risk if Unfixed
If the bracket comes loose while you're driving, it could detach from the vehicle and become a road hazard. If this happens while you're towing another vehicle, you could lose control of the towed vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Jeep dealer will check the tow hook bracket bolts to make sure they're tightened properly, and they'll do it at no cost to you. This repair is free, so schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
