What Happened
The battery sensor in your Accord is a small component that helps manage your 12-volt battery. In some cases, water can get into the sensor's case, which could cause an electrical short.
Risk if Unfixed
If an electrical short happens, it could lead to a fire, which can be a serious safety risk.
Free Fix
Your Honda dealer will replace the faulty battery sensor with a new one, and will also use a special adhesive to seal the sensor case to prevent water from entering. This repair is completely free, and you should schedule it as soon as possible.

Original — What Happened
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Honda Accord vehicles. The case for the battery sensor, part of the battery management system, may allow water to get in, potentially causing an electrical short.

Original — Remedy
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the sensor, free of charge. Dealers will perform an interim remedy of applying adhesive to the case to prevent water intrusion.
