What Happened
The Automatic Transmission Control Module is like the brain of your transmission. It helps your car shift gears smoothly and efficiently. In some 2005-2010 Accords, CR-Vs, and Elements, this module might get faulty signals from the transmission due to a broken secondary shaft bearing.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, your engine could stall while driving, and you could lose power. Broken pieces from the transmission could also get stuck in the parking pawl, causing your car to roll away when you think it's in park, which increases the risk of a crash or injury.
Free Fix
Your Honda dealer will update the transmission control module software for free, so your car can communicate with the transmission properly again. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.

THE OUTER RACE OF THE SECONDARY SHAFT BEARING MAY BE BROKEN DURING CERTAIN DRIVING STYLES. A BROKEN OUTER RACE MAY CAUSE ABNORMAL NOISE, THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT TO TURN ON, AND ALLOW CONTACT BETWEEN THE TRANSMISSION IDLE GEAR AND AN ELECTRONIC SENSOR HOUSING WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION.

What Happened
The nose mask on your 2008-2010 Honda Accord is a protective accessory designed to shield your face from debris. Unfortunately, it was made incorrectly and could interfere with the hood latch.
Risk if Unfixed
If the nose mask gets in the way of the hood latch and the hood isn't fully closed, it might pop open while you're driving. This could obstruct your view and increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
You should remove the nose mask immediately and take it to your authorized Honda dealer to have it replaced for free. They'll swap it out for a corrected version, and you won't pay a dime for the repair.

HONDA IS RECALLING AFTERMARKET FULL NOSE MASKS, PART NUMBER 08P35-TA0-100 AND 08P35-TA6-100 MANUFACTURED BETWEEN AUGUST 9, 2007 THROUGH DECEMBER 11, 2007. THE ACCESSORY WAS DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR MODEL YEAR 2008-2010 HONDA ACCORD 4-DOOR VEHICLES. IT IS POSSIBLE FOR THE NOSE MASK MATERIAL TO INTERFERE WITH PART OF THE HOOD LATCH. IF THE HOOD HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETELY CLOSED AND THE NOSE MASK INTERFERES WITH THE SECONDARY HOOD LATCH MECHANISM THE HOOD MAY POP OPEN WHILE THE VEHICLE BEING DRIVEN.
