What Happened
The rear-quarter windows in your Chevy Express or GMC Savana are made of tempered glass, which can shatter and increase the risk of injury in a side impact or rollover crash.

If you're in a side impact or rollover crash and the rear-quarter windows shatter, you could be more likely to get hurt because tempered glass can break into sharp pieces.

Your dealer will replace the tempered glass windows with safer laminated glass ones, totally free of charge. Once you get the recall notice, schedule the repair to ensure your vehicle meets safety standards.

Original — What Happened
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2016-2019 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vehicles. One or both of the rear-quarter windows may be tempered glass instead of laminated glass. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 226, "Ejection Mitigation."
