FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP

Manufacturer
Ford Motor Company
What Happened
The Fuel Delivery Module (FDM) in your vehicle is like a vital pipe that carries fuel from the tank to your engine. In your 2010-2012 Ford Escape or 2010-2011 Mercury Mariner, this module could crack and start leaking fuel.

If the FDM cracks and leaks fuel, it could catch fire if there's an ignition source nearby. This could lead to a serious fire, putting you and others at risk.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will replace the faulty FDM flange with a new one that's designed to prevent leaks, and this repair is 100% free. You should expect a second notice when the new parts are available, but in the meantime, you can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 for more information.

Risk if Unfixed
If the sensor fails, you could lose power steering assist at low speeds, making it harder to steer. This could increase the risk of a crash, especially in crowded areas or tight spaces.
