What Happened
The wiring harness in your Bronco's engine compartment is a bundle of wires that connects your engine's electrical systems. In some 2021-2026 models, this harness can get damaged and cause a short circuit.
Risk if Unfixed
If the wiring harness gets damaged, it could create sparks or heat, which could lead to a fire in the engine compartment. A fire in the engine could compromise the structural integrity of your Bronco and increase the risk of a serious accident.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will add protective sheathing to the wiring harness to prevent damage and short circuits, free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2026 Bronco and Bronco Raptor vehicles. The engine compartment wiring harness may become damaged and short circuit.

Dealers will install sheathing over the wiring, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed beginning August 24, 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26S55. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on July 23, 2026.
