What Happened
The curtain air bag on your 2026 Bronco is designed to protect you and your passengers from side impacts. Unfortunately, a manufacturing issue could cause the metal bracket that holds it in place to tear the air bag open during a crash.
Risk if Unfixed
If the air bag tears, it might not work properly to restrain you or your passengers in a side collision, putting you at risk of serious injury.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will make sure the air bag bracket is positioned safely away from the air bag, so it won't get damaged and work as intended. The repair is completely free, and you should contact your dealer once you receive the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2026 Bronco vehicles. The mounting bracket on the right-hand-side side curtain air bag may have a metal burr that can tear the air bag during deployment.

A torn air bag may fail to properly restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will increase the space between the bracket and air bag to remove the contact condition, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, are expected to be mailed September 15, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated in October 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26S64.
