What Happened
The Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) in your Ford Bronco or Edge handles the rearview camera system. In some 2021-2024 models, this module can overheat and stop working, causing a blank rearview camera screen.
Risk if Unfixed
If the rearview camera image doesn't appear, you'll have a reduced view behind your vehicle, which could increase the risk of a crash when backing up.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will update the APIM software for free, or you can get an over-the-air update. This will ensure your rearview camera works properly, and it won't cost you a thing.

What Happened
The rearview camera system in your vehicle is a critical safety feature that shows you what's behind your car when you're in reverse. In certain models, a software glitch can cause the camera image to freeze or not display at all.
Risk if Unfixed
If the camera image isn't working, you'll lose a crucial view of what's behind your vehicle, making it harder to spot pedestrians, cars, or other obstacles. This increases the risk of a crash, especially when reversing in tight spaces or on uneven terrain.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will update the software for the rearview camera system with the latest version, free of charge. This will give you a clear and reliable view behind your vehicle once again. You should schedule the update as soon as you receive the notification letter.
