Component
STEERING:ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM
Manufacturer
General Motors, LLC
What Happened
The electric power steering system in your vehicle helps make steering easier at low speeds. In some 2016-2018 Cadillac CTS, ATS, Camaro, and Corvette models, this system could fail.
Risk if Unfixed
If the power steering assist goes out, you'll need to use more force to steer, especially at low speeds. This could make it harder to steer and increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your dealership will replace the power steering gear assembly with a new one at no cost to you. You'll receive a notice with instructions on how to schedule the repair, which should be done as soon as possible.
