The ignition key in your Camaro is the part that turns the engine on and off. In some cases, the replacement key sold by GM was recalled because it could accidentally shut off the engine if you bump it with your knee while driving.
Risk if Unfixed
If the engine shuts off unexpectedly, you could lose power steering and power brakes, making it harder to control your vehicle. This could lead to a crash, and in a severe accident, your airbags might not deploy as they should.
Free Fix
Your Chevrolet dealer will inspect the key and replace it with a redesigned one, free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as possible to ensure your safety on the road.
