What Happened
The engine management system in your vehicle is responsible for controlling engine performance and features like brake assist. In certain models, there's a software issue that could cause it to malfunction.
Risk if Unfixed
If the engine management system fails, you could lose the extra help from your anti-lock braking system (ABS). This means it might be harder to stop quickly, especially on slippery roads or in emergency situations, which could lead to a crash.
Free Fix
Your authorized BMW dealer will update the engine management software to fix the issue, and it will be done at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice.
