What Happened
The headlight assembly on your BMW R 18B or R 18 Transcontinental motorcycle has a bracket that holds the low beam reflector in place. In some 2021-2024 models, this bracket can break, causing the reflector to shift and reducing your visibility while driving.
Risk if Unfixed
If the reflector shifts, your low beam headlights won't shine properly, which can obscure your view or create glare for oncoming traffic, raising the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your dealer will swap out the headlamp assembly with a new one that secures the reflector properly, at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2021-2024 BMW R 18B and R 18 Transcontinental motorcycles. The headlight low beam attachment points may break, shifting the reflector out of position, and resulting in insufficient illumination. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
