What Happened
The low beam attachment points on your motorcycle's headlight can break, causing the reflector to move out of position and reduce the light shining on the road.
Risk if Unfixed
If the headlight isn't shining brightly, you might have reduced visibility or create glare for oncoming traffic, which could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will swap out the headlamp for a new one at no cost to you. You should schedule this repair as soon as you receive the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2021-2024 BMW R 18B and R 18 Transcontinental motorcycles. The headlight low beam attachment points may break, shifting the reflector out of position, and resulting in insufficient illumination. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
