Component
COMMUNICATION: AUTO CRASH NOTIFICATION
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
Your vehicle's emergency call system is a feature that sends your location and crash information to emergency responders in case of an accident. In some 2025 BMW models, this system might not work because of a software glitch.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're in an emergency and your system is not working, first responders might not know where to find you or that you need help, which could lead to a delay in getting the assistance you need.
Free Fix
BMW will update the software in your vehicle's control unit, either remotely or at a dealership, at no cost to you. You'll get a letter with instructions on how to proceed, but you can also reach out to BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 for more information.
