Component
COMMUNICATION: AUTO CRASH NOTIFICATION
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The emergency call system in your motorcycle is a feature that sends help to you if you're in a crash. It's supposed to alert first responders to your location, but a software glitch might prevent that from happening.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're in a serious accident, first responders might not know where you are or that you need help, which could put you at greater risk of injury.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will update the software for your motorcycle's electronic control unit, ensuring the emergency call system works properly. This update will happen either over-the-air or at the dealer, and it's completely free.
