COMMUNICATION: AUTO CRASH NOTIFICATION

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The eCall system in your vehicle is a safety feature that sends emergency responders your location and a description of the crash in the event of an accident. However, a software glitch could prevent this system from working properly.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're ever in a serious crash, the eCall system might not alert first responders to your location, which could delay help and increase the risk of injury.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will update the software in your vehicle's electronic control unit, free of charge, to fix the glitch. You'll receive a notification when the update is available, and you can also contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 for more information.
