POWER TRAIN Safety Recalls

Critical #23V011000 Plain English
Component

POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION:INTERNAL:SHAFT:INPUT

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The gearbox input shaft is a critical part in your motorcycle's transmission, connecting the engine to the rear wheel. In some 2019-2023 BMW R1250GS, R1250GS Adventure, and R1250RTP models, this shaft can be damaged or break while riding.
Risk if Unfixed
If the input shaft fails, it could lock up the rear wheel, making it hard to steer or stop. This increases the risk of a crash and injuries.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will update the engine control unit software to prevent this issue, and the repair is free. You should schedule the software update as soon as you get the recall notice.
