What Happened
The gearbox input shaft in your motorcycle is a crucial part that connects the engine to the transmission. In some 2019-2023 models, this shaft could get damaged or break while you're riding, especially under certain conditions.
Risk if Unfixed
If the shaft breaks, it could lock up the rear wheel, making it harder to control your motorcycle and increasing the risk of a serious crash.
Free Fix
Your authorized BMW dealer will update the engine control unit software to prevent this issue, and the repair is completely free. You should schedule the update as soon as possible, especially if you've received a recall notice letter.
