What Happened
The brake lines in your motorcycle are the tubes that carry brake fluid from the master cylinder to the front brakes. In some 2007-2009 R and K series models, these lines might be prone to vibration, which could cause them to crack and leak over time.
Risk if Unfixed
If a leak goes unnoticed and the brake fluid reservoir runs dry, your front brakes might fail while you're riding. This could make it hard to stop, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the old brake lines with new ones that have a protective sleeve to prevent damage. This repair is completely free, and you should schedule it as soon as you receive the recall notice.
