Component
POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE:DRIVESHAFT
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The driveshaft is like a long rod that helps transfer power from your transmission to the wheels of your car. In some 2016-2017 BMW M3, M4, and M4 GTS models, the connection between the driveshaft and the flange could break.
Risk if Unfixed
If this connection fails, your vehicle could lose power and stall, making it harder to control, which could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the driveshaft with a new one, free of charge, as soon as you get the recall notice. This repair is on the house, so don't hesitate to schedule it with your dealer.
