Component
ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The Engine Control Unit (ECU) is like the brain of your 760Li's engine. It controls everything that happens inside the engine. In some 2013-2015 models, the ECU may have gotten the wrong software during a service visit.
Risk if Unfixed
If the ECU is not fixed, your engine could stall while you're driving, which increases the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Don't worry, your vehicle has already been repaired with the correct software. You won't receive a recall notice, but if you have questions, you can contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.
