ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:ADAS:DRIVER MONITORING:CAMERA/SENSOR

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The hands-on detection system in your vehicle relies on a camera and sensors to track your hands on the steering wheel. In some 2023-2024 BMW models, the ground connection to this system wasn't secured properly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the ground connection isn't fixed, the system won't work as intended, and you might not get alerts when your hands leave the wheel. This could increase the risk of a crash if you're not paying attention.
Free Fix
Your authorized BMW dealer will check the ground connection and secure it properly – for free. You should schedule this repair as soon as you get your recall notice.

What Happened
The Interaction Bar is a control panel on your dashboard that helps you use the windshield defrosting and hazard lights. In some 2023 BMW 740i, 760i xDrive, and i7 xDrive60 models, this panel might not work as intended, so you can't turn on the defrost or hazard lights.
Risk if Unfixed
If the Interaction Bar fails, you might not be able to defrost your windshield or turn on your hazard lights. This could increase the risk of a crash or injury, especially in low visibility conditions like rain or fog.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:PROPULSION SYSTEM:HYBRID MANAGEMENT

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The high voltage battery combined charging unit (CCU) in your vehicle is a crucial part that helps manage the flow of electricity from the battery to the electric motor. In some 2022-2023 models, the CCU might not have been built correctly, which means some internal components are connected or assembled incorrectly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the CCU fails, it could interrupt the flow of electrical power while you're driving, causing your engine to stall. This increases the risk of a collision because you'll lose power assistance for steering and braking.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty CCU with a new one, free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive your recall notice, usually within the next few weeks.
