Component
EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
Your vehicle may have a faulty left rear taillight that doesn't meet safety standards. This is because BMW installed the wrong replacement part in some 2013-2015 models, including yours.
Risk if Unfixed
If the taillight is faulty, it could be harder for other drivers to see your vehicle at night or in low-light conditions, which might lead to a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will inspect the taillight and replace it with the correct one, at no cost to you. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you receive the recall notice.
