EXTERIOR LIGHTING

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
Your vehicle's left rear taillight is a critical safety light that helps other drivers see your vehicle's position and direction. In some 2013-2015 BMW 7 series models, the replacement taillight might not be installed correctly.
Risk if Unfixed
If your left rear taillight is not working properly, other drivers might have a harder time seeing your vehicle, especially at night or in low-light conditions. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will inspect the taillight and replace it with the correct one at no cost to you. The repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2013-2015 740i, 740Li, 740Lxi, 750i, 750xi, 750Li and 750Lxi and 2014 ActiveHybrid 7 vehicles. The affected vehicles may have received incorrect replacement left rear taillight assemblies. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Original — Risk if Unfixed
Vehicles with the incorrect left rear lamp assemblies may be less conspicuous to other drivers, possibly increasing the risk of a crash.
