ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:CRANKCASE (PCV)

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The PCV valve in your car helps keep your engine running smoothly by recycling oil vapors. The heater in this system could short circuit and cause a fire, even if the car is parked and not in use.
Risk if Unfixed
If the PCV valve heater fails, it could melt the parts inside, causing a fire. This could happen even when you're not driving, so it's essential to address this issue as soon as possible.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty PCV valve heater with a new one at no cost to you. You'll receive a notification with a schedule for the repair, but you can also contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 to check the status.
