Component
EXTERIOR LIGHTING:TAIL LIGHTS
Manufacturer
BMW OF NORTH AMERICA, LLC
What Happened
The lights in the back of your vehicle are controlled by electrical contacts inside the body panels. Over time, these contacts can wear out and cause some lights to stop working, which includes your tail light, brake light, and turn signal.
Risk if Unfixed
If the lights behind you stop working, other drivers might not know when you're stopping or turning, which could lead to a crash without warning.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will repair the electrical contacts for free, so you should schedule an appointment as soon as possible. The repair is on the house, and you can contact BMW at 1-800-525-7417 to get started.
