Component

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The gateway control module in your vehicle is like a central computer that helps control various functions. In certain Audi models, it's located under the rear seat and could be damaged if liquid spills on it.
Risk if Unfixed
If liquid spills on the gateway control module, it could shut down, causing your engine to lose power. This sudden loss of power could make it hard to control your vehicle and increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will install a protective cover over the gateway control module to prevent damage from spills — at no cost to you. The repair is free, and you should schedule it when you receive the recall notice.

What Happened
The fuel level sensor in your vehicle is like a gauge that tells you how much fuel is left in your tank. In some models, this sensor can get stuck, showing an incorrect fuel level.
Risk if Unfixed
If the sensor gets stuck, you might see an incorrect fuel level on your dashboard, which could lead to an engine stall when you run out of fuel. This could cause you to lose control of your vehicle, increasing the chance of a crash.
Free Fix
Your authorized Audi dealer will replace the faulty sensor with a new one, at no cost to you. The repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
