SEAT BELTS:PRETENSIONER

Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The seat belt tensioner in your Audi S3 or A3 sedan is the part that tightens the seat belt to keep you safe during a crash. In some 2022 models, this tensioner might not be strong enough to keep you secure.
Risk if Unfixed
If the tensioner fails, you could be at risk of serious injury if you're not properly restrained in a crash. This is because the seat belt might not be able to hold you in place, making it harder for your body to absorb the impact.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will replace the seat belt assemblies with new ones that have proper retention force, at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice and contact Audi's customer service at 1-800-253-2834 with any questions.

SEAT BELTS:REAR/OTHER:RETRACTOR

Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The retractor on your rear seat belts is a critical part that keeps the belts securely locked during sudden stops. In some 2021 Volkswagen and Audi models, this retractor can malfunction and release the belts too early, making it harder to keep your child's car seat secure.
Risk if Unfixed
If the retractor fails, your child's car seat might not be properly secured, which could increase the risk of serious injury in the event of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Volkswagen or Audi dealer will inspect and replace the middle-rear seat belt assemblies for free. This repair is urgent, and you should schedule it as soon as possible. You can also contact Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-893-5298 or Audi at 1-800-253-2834 to confirm the recall and schedule an appointment.
