Component
SEAT BELTS:PRETENSIONER
Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The seat belt tensioner in your Audi S3 or A3 sedan is the part that tightens the seat belt to keep you safe during a crash. In some 2022 models, this tensioner might not be strong enough to keep you secure.
Risk if Unfixed
If the tensioner fails, you could be at risk of serious injury if you're not properly restrained in a crash. This is because the seat belt might not be able to hold you in place, making it harder for your body to absorb the impact.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will replace the seat belt assemblies with new ones that have proper retention force, at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice and contact Audi's customer service at 1-800-253-2834 with any questions.
