What Happened
The electric coolant pump in your vehicle is what helps keep your engine cool. In some 2012-2017 Audi models, this pump can get clogged with debris from the cooling system or short-circuit from moisture, causing it to fail.
Risk if Unfixed
If the pump fails, your engine could overheat, increasing the risk of a fire. This is a serious situation that could cause significant damage or even a fire.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will replace the pump with a new one to prevent this issue, completely free of charge. You'll be notified when the repair is ready, so schedule an appointment as soon as you get the notice.

Original — What Happened
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2013-2017 Audi A5 Cabriolet, A5 Sedan and Audi Q5 vehicles, 2012-2015 Audi A6 vehicles and 2013-2016 Audi A4 Sedan and A4 allroad vehicles. These vehicles, equipped with 2.0l Turbo FSI engines, have an electric coolant pump that can either become blocked with debris from the cooling system causing it to overheat or can short-circuit from moisture within the pump.

A blocked pump or a short-circuited pump can increase the risk of a fire.
Original — Remedy
Audi will notify owners, and dealers will replace the pumps, free of charge. The recall began September 14, 2018. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Audi's number's for this recall is 19N3/19N4. Note: This recall is in additional to the coolant pump software update applied as a remedy under recall 17V002.

What Happened
The electric coolant pump in your vehicle is responsible for circulating fluid that keeps your engine cool. In some 2012-2017 Audi models with 2.0L turbo engines, debris can clog this pump and cause it to overheat.
Risk if Unfixed
If the pump overheats, it could ignite a fire, which is a serious risk to your safety.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will update the software to automatically shut off the power to the coolant pump if it's clogged, preventing a fire. This service is free, and you'll be notified when it's time to schedule the update.

What Happened
The auxiliary heater in your Audi is a small part that helps warm up the cabin. It's connected by thin wires that can start to corrode over time, especially in areas with high humidity.
Risk if Unfixed
If the wires corrode and melt, it could cause a fire in your vehicle. This is a serious risk that could lead to an engine compartment fire.
Free Fix
Audi will replace the auxiliary heater and update the software for free, so you should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice from them. The repair is completely free, with no cost to you.
