What Happened
The steering gear box is like a gearbox that helps you turn the wheels. In some 2023-2024 Odyssey and 2024 Acura RDX models, it might not have been tightened correctly, allowing water to get inside and cause damage.
Risk if Unfixed
If the steering gears get corroded and jammed, you could lose control of your vehicle's steering, which could lead to a serious accident.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the faulty electric power steering rack with a new one, free of charge. This repair is on the house, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Odyssey and 2024 Acura RDX vehicles. The steering gear box assembly may not have been tightened properly, allowing water to enter the assembly and cause corrosion and binding gears.

Corroded and binding steering gears can result in a loss of steering control and increase the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will replace the electric power steering rack, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 4, 2024. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are LHU and FHT.
