Manufacturer
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.)
What Happened
The steering gear box is like a gearbox that helps you turn the wheels. In some 2023-2024 Odyssey and 2024 Acura RDX models, it might not have been tightened correctly, allowing water to get inside and cause damage.
Risk if Unfixed
If the steering gears get corroded and jammed, you could lose control of your vehicle's steering, which could lead to a serious accident.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the faulty electric power steering rack with a new one, free of charge. This repair is on the house, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.

AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION:FRONT PASSENGER

Manufacturer
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.)
What Happened
The front passenger seat weight sensor in your vehicle is like a small computer that helps the airbag system decide whether to deploy or not. In some cases, this sensor can crack and malfunction, causing the airbags to deploy even if you're not in a life-threatening situation.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, the airbags could deploy during a crash, which increases the risk of injury. You could be hurt by the airbag itself, or the sudden deployment could distract you from the actual crash, making it harder to protect yourself.
Free Fix
Your Honda dealer will replace the faulty seat weight sensor with a new one, free of charge. You'll get a recall notice in the mail, and you should schedule the repair as soon as possible to ensure your airbag system is working properly.
