What Happened
Your vehicle may have a problem with the steering gear assembly, where two screws were possibly installed on top of each other, which could cause a screw to fall into the gearbox housing.
Risk if Unfixed
If a screw gets stuck in the gearbox housing, it could cause your steering wheel to lock up, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
You'll get a free replacement of the steering gear at a dealership, and you'll be notified by mail starting March 1, 2023. If you have any questions, you can call Volvo Car's customer service at 1-800-458-1552 or reference recall number R10213.

Original — What Happened
Volvo Car USA, LLC (Volvo Car) is recalling certain 2019-2022 V60CC, XC60, and XC90 vehicles. During steering gear assembly, double screws may have been assembled on top of each other, which can cause a screw to fall into the gearbox housing.

Dealers will replace the steering gear, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 1, 2023. Owners may contact Volvo Car's customer service at 1-800-458-1552. Volvo Car's number for this recall is R10213.
