What Happened
In your Model S or Model X, the airbag under your steering wheel has a small part called a horn pad. In some 2021-2025 models, this horn pad might be installed incorrectly, stopping your horn from working.
Risk if Unfixed
If your horn doesn't sound when you press it, you might not be able to alert other drivers, which could lead to a collision.
Free Fix
Your Tesla dealer will check the airbag and swap out the horn pad for the correct one, at no cost to you. This is a free repair, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.

Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Model S and 2021-2025 Model X vehicles. An air bag with the incorrect horn pad may have been installed, preventing the horn from sounding.

What Happened
The driver's air bag in your Model S or Model X is a critical safety feature that inflates to cushion your head and neck in the event of a crash. In certain 2021-2025 models, this air bag might tear apart when it deploys.
Risk if Unfixed
If the air bag tears, it may not do its job, leaving you vulnerable to serious injury in a crash. A torn air bag could lead to head or neck injuries, which could be life-threatening.
Free Fix
Tesla will replace the faulty air bag assembly with a new one at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as possible to ensure your safety on the road.

Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2021-2025 Model S and Model X vehicles. The driver's air bag could tear during deployment. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 208, "Occupant Crash Protection" and 212, "Windshield Mounting."
