What Happened
The fuel pump in your Subaru is the part that sends gasoline from the tank to your engine. In certain aftermarket pumps, the connection to the gas tank can leak fuel when the tank is full.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, you could have a fuel leak near an ignition source, which could cause a fire. This is a serious risk, especially when you're filling up or driving.
Free Fix
Airtex will replace the faulty fuel pump with a new one, at no cost to you. Your dealer will contact you and schedule the repair, which is free of charge.

Original — What Happened
Airtex Products LP (Airtex) is recalling certain model E8598M, E8518M, E8600M, E8596M, and E8597M fuel pumps manufactured July 26, 2013, and July 29, 2013 and used as aftermarket replacements on Subaru Baja's, Outback's and Legacy's. The affected fuel pumps were sold or installed into the aftermarket applications on or after July 26, 2013, and may may leak fuel from the base of a fuel line connection when the gas tank is full.

Airtex will notify owners, and will replace the fuel pump, free of charge. Recall is expected to begin on January 2, 2014. Customers may contact Airtex at 1-800-880-3056. The recall is expected to begin during January 2014. This recall is being conducted by Airtex, not by Subaru.

What Happened
The parking rod in your transmission is like a safety lock that keeps your vehicle from rolling away when you put it in park. Unfortunately, some of these rods were made incorrectly, which means they might not do their job.
Risk if Unfixed
If the parking rod fails, your vehicle could roll away without warning, which could lead to a crash. Imagine being in a parking lot or a hill and your car starts moving unexpectedly.
Free Fix

The rear suspension subframe is the part that connects the wheels to your car's frame. In certain vehicles, the paint on this subframe is not protective enough, which means it can rust and break over time.

What Happened
The cruise control cable in your vehicle is like a flexible wire that helps you set a steady speed on the highway. It can sometimes come loose and get stuck on a small tab on the accelerator pedal.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens while you're driving, your accelerator pedal won't return to the idle position, and you could lose control of your vehicle, which could lead to a crash.

Your Subaru dealer will add a small clip to the cruise control lever to keep the cable in place, preventing it from getting stuck. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you receive the recall notice.
