STEERING Safety Recalls

Critical #19V065000 Plain English
Component

STEERING:ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM

Manufacturer
Subaru of America, Inc.
What Happened
Your 2019 Subaru Forester or Crosstrek may have a problem with the electric power steering system, which helps your car turn smoothly and easily. There's a small issue with a connector inside the system that could cause it to short circuit.
Risk if Unfixed
If the electric power steering fails, you'll need to steer your car by muscle power, which could make it harder to steer, especially at low speeds. This increases the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Subaru will inspect and replace the steering gearbox for free, and you can schedule this at your local dealership. They'll take care of it at no cost to you.
