What Happened
Your vehicle's Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve, a small metal component, might break apart while driving, which could cause problems with the engine.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, you could lose power while driving, which increases the risk of a car accident.
Free Fix
Subaru will notify you and fix the issue for free. They'll check the PCV valve and replace it if necessary. If the broken pieces are lost, they may need to replace the entire engine, also for free.

Original — What Happened
Subaru of America, Inc. (Subaru) is recalling certain 2019 Crosstrek, Forester, and Ascent vehicles. The aluminum Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve can separate, allowing the separated components to enter the engine, resulting in a loss of power while driving.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
An unexpected loss of power while driving can increase the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
Subaru will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the PCV valve, free of charge. If the PCV valve has separated and the components cannot be found, the short block engine will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began January 31, 2020. STEERING:ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM

What Happened
Your 2019 Subaru Forester or Crosstrek may have a problem with the electric power steering system, which helps your car turn smoothly and easily. There's a small issue with a connector inside the system that could cause it to short circuit.
Risk if Unfixed
If the electric power steering fails, you'll need to steer your car by muscle power, which could make it harder to steer, especially at low speeds. This increases the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Subaru will inspect and replace the steering gearbox for free, and you can schedule this at your local dealership. They'll take care of it at no cost to you.

If left unfixed, the risk of a crash increases because the rear stabilizer bracket can shift out of place.

Subaru will contact you, and their dealers will tighten or replace any loose bolts at no cost to you, and they've already sent out notification letters.
