AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION

What Happened
The Occupant Classification System (OCS) sensor is a critical component that helps determine whether the front passenger air bag should deploy during a crash. In your 2020-2021 Toyota or Lexus model, a short circuit in this sensor could prevent the air bag from working properly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the OCS sensor fails, and you're in a crash, the front passenger air bag may not deploy. This increases the risk of serious injury to the passenger.
Free Fix
Your Toyota or Lexus dealer will inspect and replace the OCS sensor if necessary, completely free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as possible and wait for a notification letter from Toyota, which will be mailed in phases through January 2026.
