What Happened
The water pump in your RAM's engine is like a coolant circulator that keeps your engine from overheating. In some 2013-2017 models with the Cummins diesel engine, this pump might not have a small hole to release excess pressure.
Risk if Unfixed
If the pump leaks, coolant can spill into the engine compartment, causing a fire. This could happen while you're driving, and a fire in the engine area can be extremely dangerous.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the water pump with a revised one that has the necessary safety features, all at no cost to you. Just schedule the repair when you get your recall notice.
