What Happened
The driver's side air bag in your vehicle is designed to inflate in a crash to protect you. In certain models, there's a risk that the air bag's inflator could get wet over time and rupture in a severe crash.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, the inflator could fail, sending sharp metal fragments into you or other passengers, causing serious injury or even death in the event of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty driver air bag module at no cost to you. Do not drive your vehicle until the repair is done. They will notify you when the repair is ready, and you should schedule it as soon as possible.
