Component

AIR BAGS:SIDE/WINDOW:CURTAIN:INFLATOR

Manufacturer
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)
What Happened
The side air bag curtains in your Ram 1500 or 3500 are designed to protect you and your passengers from injury in a side impact. The part that makes them inflate, called the SABIC, could detach or rupture while deploying, causing it to send sharp parts into the vehicle.
Risk if Unfixed
If the SABIC inflator fails, it could send metal or plastic pieces flying into the cabin, potentially hitting you or your passengers. This could increase the risk of serious injury or even a crash.
Free Fix
Your Ram dealer will inspect and replace the side air bag curtain assemblies, free of charge, to ensure they're working properly. You should schedule this repair as soon as you get the recall notice, to keep you and your passengers safe.
