What Happened
Your 2024 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter may have a problem with the welds on the rear axle's gear, which could cause it to stop working.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, you could lose control of your vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash or injury, especially if you're on a slope and the parking brake isn't engaged.
Free Fix
You should have your vehicle's rear axle electric drivetrain replaced for free at a dealership. You've already been notified by mail, but if you have any questions, you can call DVUSA customer service at 877-762-8267.

Original — What Happened
Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling certain 2024 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter vehicles. The welds on the helical gear within the rear axle drivetrain may fail, causing a loss of drive power.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. In addition, drivetrain failure can result in a vehicle rollaway if the parking brake is not applied, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Original — Remedy

If this isn't fixed, you could be at a higher risk of getting into a crash because it might take longer to stop your vehicle.

We'll update the ESP software for free to make sure you can stop safely and promptly, and you'll be notified by a letter with instructions on how to schedule the repair.

Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling certain 2024 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter vehicles. Due to a software error in the electronic stability program (ESP), the force required to stop the vehicle may increase, possibly requiring an extended distance to stop.
