What Happened
Your car's driveshaft is like a long rod that connects your transmission to your wheels, allowing power to reach the ground. In some 2016-2018 AMG GT models, the bond between the driveshaft and the flange may not be strong enough.
Risk if Unfixed
If the driveshaft separates, you could lose power to your wheels, making it harder to control your vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will inspect your driveshaft and replace it if necessary, all at no cost to you. Simply schedule the repair when you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2016-2018 AMG GT vehicles. The bonding between the carbon-fiber driveshaft and the flange may be insufficient, which could result in driveshaft separation.

A separated driveshaft may cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the carbon-fiber driveshaft, as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed October 15, 2021. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2021090008.
