Component
FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP
Manufacturer
Mazda North American Operations
What Happened
The low-pressure fuel pump in your vehicle uses an impeller, a spinning part that helps move fuel to your engine. In some 2018-2020 Mazda models, this impeller can crack and deform, causing the pump to fail.
Risk if Unfixed
If the fuel pump fails, your engine could stall while driving, which could make it hard to control your vehicle and increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Mazda dealer will replace the faulty fuel pump with a new one, free of charge, as soon as you schedule the repair after receiving your recall notice. This service is complimentary, so you won't pay a thing.
