What Happened
The low-pressure fuel pump in your vehicle is a critical component that delivers gasoline to your engine. The pump has an impeller that can crack and deform, causing it to fail.
Risk if Unfixed
If the fuel pump fails while you're driving, your engine could suddenly shut off, making it hard to steer and brake. This could increase the risk of a collision.
Free Fix
Your Mazda dealer will replace the faulty fuel pump with a new one at no cost to you. You should schedule an appointment as soon as you receive the recall notice, which was mailed on July 18, 2022.

Original — What Happened
Mazda North American Operations (Mazda) is recalling certain 2018 Mazda3, Mazda6, 2019 CX-3, 2018-2019 MX-5, CX-5, CX-9, and 2019-2020 Mazda2 vehicles. The impeller inside the low-pressure fuel pump may crack and deform, potentially causing the fuel pump to fail.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
Fuel pump failure may cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will replace the fuel pumps, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 18, 2022. Owners may contact Mazda customer service at 1-800-222-5500 Option 4. Mazda's number for this recall is 5321K.

The wiring harness in your CX-9 is like the nervous system of your car, sending signals to important safety features. In some 2018 models, this harness can malfunction, cutting off communication to critical systems.

If the wiring harness fails, your passenger air bag may not deploy in a crash, putting you at risk of serious injury. You could also lose the ability to signal to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Your Mazda dealer will inspect and repair the wiring harness, ensuring it's working properly, all at no cost to you.

Original — What Happened
Mazda North American Operations (Mazda) is recalling certain 2018 CX-9 vehicles. The wiring harness may disrupt electrical communications and disable the passenger frontal air bag, turn signals, and/or engine starting system.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
The passenger frontal air bag may not deploy, increasing the risk of injury. Inoperable turn signals prevent the driver from signaling to other drivers, increasing the risk of crash.
Original — Remedy
Mazda will notify owners, and dealers will repair the wiring harnesses, free of charge. The recall began July 26, 2019. Owners may contact Mazda customer service at 1-800-222-5500, Option 4. Mazda's number for this recall is 3419E.
