What Happened
Your Kia Sedona's power sliding door helps you open and close the door with the touch of a button. In some 2015-2018 models, this door may not automatically stop and reverse when something gets in its way.

If the door closes on you or a passenger, it could cause serious injury.
Free Fix
Your Kia dealer will update the software that controls the power sliding door, so it will automatically stop and reverse when it detects an obstruction. This repair is free, and you'll be notified when it's time to schedule the fix.

Original — What Happened
Kia Motors America (Kia) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Kia Sedona vehicles equipped with a power sliding door (PSD). The PSD may not auto-reverse when its closing is obstructed.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
If the door closes on an occupant, there is an increased risk of an injury.
Original — Remedy
Kia will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the PSD module software, free of charge. The recall began on June 18, 2018. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC164.
