What Happened
The anti-lock brake system (ABS) control module is the computer that helps your brakes work smoothly. In certain models, the software in this module can cause the rear brakes to lock up during hard braking.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, you could lose control of your vehicle without warning, which could lead to a serious crash.

Your dealer will update the software in the ABS control unit for free, so you should schedule the repair as soon as possible.

ON CERTAIN VEHICLES, THE ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE MAY CAUSE THE REAR BRAKES TO LOCK UP DURING CERTAIN BRAKING CONDITIONS.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
THIS COULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND CAUSE A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING.
Original — Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPROGRAM THE ABS ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT. THE RECALL BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 19, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DAIMLERCHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.
