What Happened
The master cylinder is a critical part of your vehicle's brake system. It connects your brake pedal to the hydraulic control unit. In affected 2010 Jeep Liberty, Dodge Nitro, Jeep Wrangler, and Ram 1500 models, the connection between these two components might not be properly formed.
Risk if Unfixed
If this issue isn't fixed, you could lose brake fluid, which would severely reduce your braking performance while driving. This could cause an accident.
Free Fix
Your authorized Chrysler dealer will replace the brake tubes at no cost to you. The repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as possible.

CHRYSLER IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 LEFT HAND DRIVE JEEP LIBERTY, DODGE NITRO AND RAM 1500 TRUCK; RIGHT AND LEFT HAND DRIVE JEEP WRANGLER VEHICLES. THESE VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN BUILT WITH AN IMPROPERLY FORMED MASTER CYLINDER TO HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) BRAKE TUBE ASSEMBLY END FLARE.

What Happened
Your vehicle's brake booster input rod retaining clip is a tiny metal piece that keeps the brake pedal connected to the brake system. In some 2010 Sebring, Avenger, Nitro, Liberty, Commander, Grand Cherokee, and 2009-2010 Ram Truck models, this clip might be faulty or missing, which could cause a problem.
Risk if Unfixed
If this clip fails, your brakes could stop working suddenly and without warning, making it hard to control your vehicle and increasing the risk of a serious crash.
Free Fix
Your authorized dealer will replace the faulty brake booster input rod retaining clip with a new one, free of charge, and you should schedule the repair as soon as possible.
