What Happened
Your vehicle's right-hand side seat belt anchorage might have been installed incorrectly, which could cause it to detach in a crash.
Risk if Unfixed
If the seat belt anchorage detaches, you could be at higher risk of injury in a crash.
Free Fix
Nissan will fix this issue free of charge by welding in a new retaining plate and securing the seat belt anchorage with a new anchor bolt.

Original — What Happened
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2018 Infiniti QX30 vehicles. The bolt securing the right-hand side lower seat belt anchorage may have been incorrectly installed during production. This can result in the lower seat belt anchorage detaching in a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with certain requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages", number 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies, and number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

If the lower seat belt anchorage detaches in a crash, it can increase the risk of injury.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will weld in a new retaining plate and secure the seat belt anchorage with a new anchor bolt, free of charge. All vehicles were repaired July 17, 2018. Owners may contact Infiniti customer service at 1-800-662-6200.

What Happened
The air bag clockspring in your Infiniti QX30 is a critical part that helps your air bag deploy safely. In certain 2017-2018 models, this part can break if there's an electrical discharge, causing the air bag to deploy unexpectedly.
Risk if Unfixed
If your air bag deploys unexpectedly, you could be at risk of serious injury or a collision. The air bag won't deploy as designed, and you may not have proper protection in a crash.
Free Fix
Your Infiniti dealer will add a critical grounding connection to the steering components, ensuring your air bag deploys correctly and safely. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you receive the recall notice.

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling 2017-2018 Infiniti QX30 vehicles. The driver's air bag may unexpectedly deploy due to insufficient grounding of the steering components if an electrostatic discharge occurs and the air bag clockspring is broken.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA

What Happened
The back-up camera system in your vehicle is designed to show you what's behind your car when you're in reverse. In some 2018-2019 models, the camera settings can get stuck on a wrong view, making it hard to see what's behind you.
Risk if Unfixed
If the camera display is stuck on the wrong view, you'll be unable to see what's behind your vehicle while reversing, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Nissan dealer will update the camera settings software to fix the issue, and the repair is completely free. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Nissan Altima, Armada, Frontier, Kicks, Leaf, Maxima, Murano, NV, NV200, Pathfinder, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Sentra, Titan, Titan Diesel, Versa Note and Versa Sedan vehicles, as well as Infiniti Q50, Q60, QX30 and QX80 vehicles. Additionally included are 2019 Nissan GT-R and Taxi and Infiniti QX50, QX60, Q70, Q70L vehicles. The back-up camera and display settings can be adjusted such that the rear view image is no longer visible and the system will retain that setting the next time the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Nissan will notify owners in phases, having dealers update the back-up camera settings software, free of charge. The recall began November 11, 2019 and all affected VINs should be activated. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 or INFINITI customer service at 1-800-662-6200.
