What Happened
The wiring in your Chevrolet Express or GMC Savana Cutaway is the network of electrical paths that connect various parts of your vehicle. In certain models, the wiring for the rear air conditioning system can corrode if left exposed and unused.
Risk if Unfixed
If the wiring corrodes, it could overheat and catch fire, which could cause serious damage to your vehicle and potentially harm you or others nearby.

Your dealership will seal the exposed wiring to prevent corrosion and overheating, all at no cost to you. You should schedule this repair as soon as you receive the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2003-2023 Chevrolet Express Cutaway and GMC Savana Cutaway incomplete vehicles equipped with wiring for an optional rear heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system. When the HVAC blower motor circuit is left unused with exposed connectors and wiring, the circuit can corrode and overheat.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
An overheated electrical circuit increases the risk of a fire.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will properly seal the rear HVAC blower motor circuits at the left side B-pillar, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 2, 2023. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GMC's number for this recall is N222386050.

The chassis electronic module in your vehicle is like a brain that helps control various systems. In some 2013-2014 models, this module might have gotten contaminated inside, which could cause an electrical short circuit.

Original — What Happened
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Cadillac CTS, Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Yukon, and Yukon XL, and 2014 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Express, Impala, Silverado HD, Traverse, GMC Acadia, Savana, and Sierra HD vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the chassis electronic module may be internally contaminated, resulting in an electrical short.

If the module experiences an electrical short, the vehicle could stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the chassis electronic module, free of charge. The recall began on December 26, 2014.
